I think that your course is well designed, with many exercises to help me as a learner to remember words. In particular, the ‘find the hidden words’ and crosswords are useful exercises. As for the flashcards, I think they would make new vocabulary easier to learn if they contained short phrases rather than single words. For example for colours have ‘yellow banana’ ‘green field’ or for actions ‘drink tea’ ‘eat fish’ ‘cook lunch’ ‘sweep the floor’ etc.
Unfortunately, as a learner online at home, I am unable to do the role-play exercises. For speaking, I speak to Google translate, to see if it can understand my spoken Indonesian and render it in English.
I have found that sometimes exercises are not displayed properly, where I am using Firefox on a Windows PC. I have reported some of these errors.
May I make a suggestion for improving the course? I think it would be helpful to include early on in the course many phrases and short sentences that beginners are likely to need, for example
Sorry, I don’t understand.
Please repeat that.
Please speak more slowly.
How do you spell this word? (needs the alphabet)
Please write it down.
What is the Indonesian for the English word …

We hope that after having finished The Indonesian Way, you will continue the next textbook, Baca Yuk!”. There the flashcards contain phrases and short sentences, and we also make much more use of video content.
